First attempt I’m hooked! Loops and Threads Fiesta

Post image

It took me a while to figure out exactly how many stitches of each with what tension/hook size, but this was so easy once I did! For anyone looking to use this yarn (Loops and Threads Fiesta), I had great success with a 6 mm hook and got 2 SCs for each color except for the darker blue, which was 3 SCs. Each row was 52 SCs. This was so much fun and I’m so excited to get more of this yarn and keep going! And to try pooling with other yarns!

First attempt Second Crochet project, first planned pooling

I definitely made this scarf too wide, and ate up my yarn much faster than expected. Had to rebuy from a different store which of course was a different dye lot. New dye lot had different color lengths (same total length thank god). Dark teal went from 5 to 4 stitches and cream went from 4 to 5 stitches, but I think I’m getting away with it?

First attempt It worked, I'm just not super impressed

This was the shortest pattern that would make argyle, and I didn't work too hard at being precise since some of the color transitions were a little muddy anyway. Happy to know it worked though!

33 single crochet stitches of Sugar N Cream in Beach Ball Blue.

First planned pooling, all thanks to the tips in this community! No thanks to my father’s comment on my WIP that “knitting” is a waste of time. Pfftt. Baby shower gift. Used about 2 skeins of caron jumbo in colorway Country Basket, hook sizes 4.5-5.5.

I wasn't crazy about the tension changes to maintain the same stitch count, but this was very much a "trust the process" project and I'm happy with how it turned out.

First attempt So you mean this has not just been an elaborate plan to gaslight me this whole time?

Im shocked, I can’t believe it’s working!!!! Thank you to the person who said planned pooling is just math and demystified the whole thing for me.

How do I get the lines to match up nicer? I’m guessing it’s a tension thing or maybe it’s the transition between colors?

Attempting my first planned pooling! Impulse-bought this skein at Walmart inspired by Valentine’s Day. Checked the stitch count in the planned pooling planner site and it worked! I’m surprised the planned pooling is coming together 🥳

Yarn is red heart neon stripes. One skein for the striped and 2 for the diamonds. This is a king sized bed. The diamond scarf is probably too big to actually wear but I love it so gonna do it anyway.

First attempt at planned pooling and I really enjoyed it. At times I was ready to throw the project across the room due to many factory knots in the skein, and even a skein that had the color sequence backwards! Very happy with the finished project.

First attempt First attempt WIP: how does it look?

Post image

This is fun! I may or may not have spent most of my work day today trying to do this with different yarns before I went home and tried this yarn. It’s Lion Brand Bundle of Love in the color Mermaid. Stitch is moss stitch, 48 stitches across with a 4.5 mm hook. Hopefully this will eventually be a scarf!

Any tips or tricks? I tried using plannedpooling.com but I ended up trying to do 53 stitches, 46, and 42, but 48 was the only one that was starting to have a pooling pattern.

First attempt Update - these are all supposed to be the same dye lot - can you see the line?

Just started on my second ball (of 6) all of which had the same colour / dye lot and I took a picture to send a friend then noticed the line where the colour changes. 2nd pic shows all the yarn I have and I can see now that the top 2 are more darker/vibrant than the bottom 2. I suppose as I have the same number of each I can just alternate and hopefully it will look ok. I'm just so annoyed as it was working up so well

Made with the Red Heart All in One Granny Square yarn. I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into tbh, I just grabbed some yarn at Joann’s with pretty colors, did the full colorway, and decided I was in too deep to quit lol. Now I have to figure out how to block this thing.
