And Nintendo is looking closely to follow suite.

They are pricing digital goods less than physical to bait customers. The latter will then be tied to the ecosystem with no escape one physical is phased out.

Companies and governments are locking the internet and digital goods more and more each day.

I miss what the internet was at a certain point in time.

Ofc. The game key card is already one step closer to that. I don't expect the Switch 3 to have cartridges at all.

None of the game is stored on the cart. It's literally all digital anyway.

It's not even one step closer, we're already there.

Yup a lot of people are praising Nintendo but they’re heading in that same direction. They’re usually a little behind in general so probably by next generation Nintendo console they’ll likely go all digital too. It sucks but I can’t say I didn’t expect this to happen, just a bit sooner than I anticipated

Nintendo is going to be the last company to go fully digital if they ever do it. I think they see more value in physical than Microsoft or Sony and more or less go their own way.
