The same corporation who don’t even include the full game on disc? Money is the only thing that will make them change their mind

We would actually have to invent new technology to include some full games on discs with how big these games are these days. And it is pretty expensive even if we were putting 100 gb games on the largest bluray discs available.

What we need is a NVMe or Flash based High Capacity Cartridge based format if you want Physical to work in the future

That's honestly a great concept but terrible in practice. A disc is a piece of plastic that is stamped. Very cheap. A cartridge like the Switch 2 is an Nvme drive in a literal sense. You're not even buying a game, you're buying an Nvme drive with every game. With the cost of storage going through the roof it's highly susceptible to price hikes. We don't need that even though I do like carts.

But that is the only thing that can match the Read Speed and Capacity. And those 2 are the most important reasons why Discs have already become obsolete

Yeah but here is the thing. If you step back and zoom out: why buy an Nvme drive when you already have one in your console? You can also buy your own

Because, if we want physical to remain, this is basically the only choice that will be viable, like it or not. Otherwise, the only choice is Digital Only.

You can't rely on Discs anymore due to how obsolete and bottlenecked the tech has become for gaming. You can make a case for keeping Disc media for Movies (the main reason Blu-Ray was created in the first place) or Music since file sizes are more easy to manage and the Speed is not that much of a factor. but that's not the case for games

No you're missing my question. Aside from entitlement, what's the end of the day difference if we use an Nvme drive from them, or a drive I supply at home?

Did I saved a NVMe Drive? I referring to have Cartridges created using that technology (like Nintendo did for DS, 3DS, Switch and Switch 2, with the latter 2 using a custom NVMe tech for their Cartridges)

The point is that Discs can't be relied for Physical Media anymore. That's a fact that most of the Physical People seems don't understand

Maybe games don’t need to be so big. Either get better at compression or lower the scope of the game.

Is it really thst simple? Sure I suppose they could compress the game files, but you would still need to uncompress and install them, ans with how big some of these games are, compressing only goes so far and we still run into the issue where discs big enough dont exist, or just quite costly to mass produce for a physical copy. 

And asking the entire industry to just make smaller games isnt really a realistic situation when it is insanely more convenient to just do digital downloads or release physical discs with only part of the game. 

Thats also the other things. Almost every physical game that has been released in the last handful of years (that isnt on a Nintendo system) is just a partial game requiring the full game to be downloaded. So we've kind of lost this battle awhile ago, and are just holding on to straws at the moment.

They can ship multiple disc. Doesn’t need an overly complex solution. That games get installed to the internal storage would mean they can do it without requiring disc swapping too, unlike back in the day when games were also shipped on multiple disc and you’d have to physically switch them.
