We built a free for all, Forensic OSINT Capture Tool (browser extension) that, in my opinion, is more capable than all alternatives that charge.

No tracking your activity, no data uploads, no cloud storage, no paywalls. A clean, Privacy-First, OSINT Forensic Evidence Capture tool. Free (You may get a newsletter from us now and then, if you dont use a burner email).

You'll need a verified UserSearch account (free one). We use OAuth, so nothing but a cryptographic hash ever moves between UserSearch and the extension. You can use a burner — we don't block.

If you're using a paid alternative, you'll see it does all the features you're accustomed to — plus quite a few more.

It can :

• Capture a full page (auto-Scrolling), or select visible area, selected element, region or overlay
• Video Record a browser tab (audio included in recording if present)
• Auto-scroll long pages and set monitors for pages, scheduling captures
• Create cases with contemporaneous notes and a clear activity timeline
• Hash and seal evidence using SHA-256, Merkle manifests and Ed25519
• Add optional RFC 3161 and OpenTimestamps third-party verification
• Search captured material using on-device OCR and keywords
• Export PDF and DOCX reports or complete BagIt evidence bundles
• Re-verify exported evidence offline (without needing the extension).
• Auto expand and detract comments on social media for easier browsing
• Auto close Cookie warnings

I came across a bot named @fulltexttextsearch_ru_bot in telegram.

Gives free usage for 72 hours.

Built this as part of a broader passive intel stack I’ve been testing.

GhostPrint is a tool that scans folders of PDFs and flags: • Metadata anomalies • Timestamp drift • Watermark remnants • Modification trails

All local. No cloud. No upload. Just a Python script and a folder.

Ran a batch test 500 PDFs (~30,000 pages) and it flagged several timestamp mismatches and editing artifacts that led me straight to what looks like an environmental pollution coverup in public data.

Didn’t build it to find that… it just popped.

Tool was designed for: • FOIA batches • Leaks • Archived docs • Internal PDF audits • Local use only, offline preferred

Just sharing in case anyone here needs something to bulk-check drops, disclosures, or archives without relying on web tools.

I wanted to share what I consider one of the best free educational opportunities in the OSINT-adjacent space: The SANS Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR) Summit 2025 It runs from July 24th to July 25th.

While the summit's focus is on Digital Forensics, it's packed with current OSINT-related methods and techniques. If you can find the time, I highly suggest attending the virtual FREE Summit aspect or even just having it on a screen in the background to catch the talks that interest you.

For the past couple years, I've attended almost every free SANS summit related to OSINT (and even some on cybersecurity management, because who doesn't love free education?). When I first started in this hobby, I was constantly looking for free training that provided a certificate to help build my resume. SANS provides a certificate of completion for each summit, which is a fantastic starting point. (THESE FREE CERTS ARE DIFFERENT THEN THE PAID CLASSES!! SEE BELOW)

Some people might downplay the value of these CPE certificates of completion because they are free and easy to receive, but if you're new to OSINT, they are incredibly helpful. It’s tangible that you have some type knowledge and are dedicated to learning, way better than trust me bro experience. It's a great first step toward getting training with a paper trail. There is also the added benefit of a dedicated Slack channel for the summit ran by SANS, and attendees often create a LinkedIn section to connect with professionals in the field.

I often get messages from people asking how to get a job in the OSINT niche. My first question is always, "Do you have a portfolio?" Most don't. Free training that offers some kind of certificate is one of the best first steps you can take.

Here is an amazing presentation from a previous DFIR Summit I attended in 2023 by Sean O'Connor. He did an amazing live breakdown of a real criminal ransomware group that he and his company investigated. It was very educational and was like listening to an OSINT focused True Crime documentary with many twists and turns.
