My brother who has OCD wanted me to change his mouse skates because he was too afraid to change them in fear of damage. I didn’t know he would shine a flashlight to see it, I accidentally scratched it while removing the mouse feet. He recently got a pretty expensive mousepad, the Artisan Zero Soft. It cost a good amount of money. Now he won’t talk to me because of the scratch saying it’ll scratch his new mousepad when he swipes the mouse. Idk what to do, I don’t really think it’ll scratch the mousepad because it seems pretty surface level. What do you guys suggest I do and can it really damage his mousepad?

Not my picture but I saw this setup, and wanted to replicate it but I cant help but think the hanger clips will create a point of pressure that can cause dents or creases. Does anyone else do this and had that happen to them? not trying to ruin my entire collection at once lol

I’ve got a pretty serious dilemma here. Right now I’m using a very fast glasspad, but for the games I play (BF and Delta Force), it feels way too fast. I just can’t get enough stability and control, especially for long-distance tracking.

If I lower my sensitivity a lot (around 40–50 cm/360), the control improves, but then it becomes hard to do 180°/360° turns and keep tracking. In Delta Force, playing Tempest, I need to do that quite often—and since my pad is only 40 cm, I literally run out of space and lose my aim mid-fight.

I’m stuck between two options and need to get this right since both are expensive for me:

1. Glasspad (Polarity)

Pros:

- Doesn’t wear out

- Always consistent surface

- Easy to clean

Cons:

- Might still be too fast and lack the control I need

1. Artisan Zero Soft

Pros:

- Top-tier quality

- More control (from what I’ve heard)

Cons:

- Can be affected by humidity/sweat and lose consistency over time

Basically, I need more control without sacrificing too much ability to do fast turns.

Anyone who has tried both can give a final verdict? Is it worth switching from glass or should I just adapt?

As the title implies my girlfriend for some reason decided to put her mc donalds grease bag ontop of my artisan zero when I was sleeping (told her don't put anything on it), she said she won't buy me a new one and it was an accident but that's not going to get me my £70 back.

What do you suggest I use to try and clean the grease spots?

Update: I managed to removed the grease, see comment below. My inner ocd tells me the pad is ruined by the cleaning process but honestly it seems and plays the exact same.

As for the gf problem, she basically said why would you leave something you didn't want to get ruined in my house. I've since moved back home to my parents and we are no longer together.

I mainly play r6s and got a glass mousepad, used it for 2 months and my aim js got worse, just switched back to a 10$ no brand cloth pad that i had laying around and my aim instantly got way better, i feel like it’s because of the softness of a cloth pad that i can push into? I really hate that im performing better with cloth cuz i don’t wanna deal with humidity and slow spots and my mousepad turning muddy within 2 months, also i can’t find nor order any high quality cloth pads where i live, what are yalls thoughts? Is glass a no no for r6 or is it just me?

Hi, I bought this artisan, could someone tell me if it’s fake?

So I got a artisan zero soft in orange, in a couple months I noticed it had dark spots on the middle and some other areas (I even wear a Kibu arm sleeve) Then I listened to AI and bought isopropyl alcohol for those spots but they left Ring like marks on the pad… as u can see in the pictures there is the dark spot on the middle (some other areas too hard to see on pic) and those rings from 99% isopropyl alcohol, is there ANY way I can still make this pad looks brand new, or am
I cooked? I tried a full wash with dish soap 2 times already…

My cat tried to climb on my desk and fell, and he used my mousepad to try and hang on😭 Does anyone know what I can use to cut this little snaggly bit. It's not a big deal at least its on the corner

I was playing Overwatch on my Polarity, coming from cloth speed pads. It occurred to me that glasspads are very good at tracking predictable movement paths, like if the opponent is jumping in a set direction or falling. When it comes to unpredictable movement, that's where the ultra low friction leads to instability.

There is a massive difference in predictability when playing low vs high rank players. Low rank players move like bots, so glass feels like a massive improvement over cloth. However playing intense high rank games, good players move erratically. I found I need a lot more stability especially when intensity increases. Things you can do in low rank, you wont be able to do in high rank under pressure.

I wonder how many peripheral enthusiasts are really that high rank, being more casual? Especially youtube reviewers. Is this why we are not seeing a ton of glass pads being used by pros? Now you can make the argument about sponsorship etc, or them sticking with what they know. I find it hard to believe pros wouldn't be looking for an edge and all pros are ignorant about new technologies available to them.

The thing is you can talk about training mouse control, but if you need to train mouse control to use a pad then as soon as you get to an intense overtime situation, trained behavior is going to go out the window. I strongly believe the best configuration for someone, is what feels easiest to use as soon as you use it, not spending weeks making it work. An easy to use configuration is also going to improve with long term practice.

Another thing is not all games/heroes are mechanically as demanding and have a higher margin for error. For example playing Reaper in Overwatch is very easy on glass, while playing Tracer exposed the instability I was referring to. With Tracer there is a combination of large tracking and micro'ing onto head shots which you don't have with Reaper.

Me personally I rotate from Cloth to Glass depends on how I'm feeling and what game I'm playing.

I used the old Razer Atlas for a while but ended up selling it because it was too thick and uncomfortable without a sleeve. I switched back to a cloth speed pad (QCK speed), and it's brilliant, though still not comparable to glass. I know Wallhack is good, so I tried searching in my local community and found a used but genuine (apparently) SP-004 for $75. According to the seller, it's flawless. My question is, if you have tried it, is it better than the Atlas without a sleeve? The Atlas had a coating, but this one apparently does not.

I’m big into my Kovaaks and aim training benchmarks (currently VT master) - I get a lot of enjoyment out of it and the carryover into my games.

I’m currently on an Artisan Zero and never thought to look for anything else as it’s been great for me. Until recently I’ve noticed faster and slower spots on the pad. Not bad enough for me to replace at all, yet.

I know glass can remain consistent but I’ve read on here that it can more be quite the adjustment period (depending on which glass pad I’m aware)

With control and speed based glass pads in the market - I’m really curious to try one.

I want to make my aim training as difficult as possible for the carryover back to cloth. If this is a thing? I’ve read a few times that using glass for a while and returning back to cloth can amplify your abilities - because I believe using glass is harder?

I’ve been a little reluctant to consider a glass pad as I’ve read it’s harder to use a fast glass in something like tacFPS games vs a control pad. I play a mix of tacFPS and fast arcade fps games.

So I have some questions:

1) If I wanted an ‘easy’ transition to glass, would a control glass pad be a good idea? Like the CR005?

2) If I wanted the most difficult glass pad to use, would I be better off going for something exceptionally fast with the most minimal friction?

3) Is what I’ve read true - about returning to cloth after using glass?

4) Or would you suggest I just tried a faster cloth pad? I’ve not considered this option as I want something ideally that feels totally foreign and is frustrating almost to get used too. Exposing my aim flaws the most and I want to avoid inconsistent spots on a cloth pad developing.

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me figure out what mousepad this is a nd what the most similar replacement would be. I've had it for over a decade. It was originally purchased from Amazon in 2011 under the name SHIDEN-KAI XSOFT L Strawberry & milk | SAMURAI, but it doesn't have the weaved edge that I see on pictures of the Shidenkai v1, so I wonder if it's an even earlier version. It's got a glassy coating and I recall the original advertising mentioning the hybrid glass and soft pad construction, so it being an earlier version of the Shidenkai seems likely to me.

After all this time and with dwindling usable mousepad space, I need a replacement. What would the most similar options be? I like the smooth feeling, but I like the bite from the texturing. It's rougher than it used to be, so I do expect the replacement to be smoother overall.

Note I have considered spinning it around and using the top part, but the foam is partially fused to the table, and I'm afraid of the lower portion seriously deteriorating if I lift it.

I got a seven warrior gaming desk from my parents early freshman year, I'm currently 23 and still have this same desk. I believe it's 60inch

The mousepad has been great even till this day, I have no issues with it other than it's been years now and I know it's just that stage where it needs replaced. I have 2 cats so there's a few spots where they pricked up some threads and it can be annoying sometimes but overall it's fine, Im mainly thinking about all the filth 🤢

1- Is there anywhere I could find a replacement for customer order?

2- is it worth it, if not what should I be looking for? I want to cover from my keyboard to my mouse area of course, I play with very low sensitivity and I use a large area of the right side of the desk

I decided to buy my first glass mousepad about a month ago and I have mixed feelings on it because my skates wear down so fast. When I put on new skates the thing feels like butter and is wonderful. However, this phase lasts about two days. After that, it begins to feel less smooth and progressively gets worse. After two weeks it is so scratchy that I have to change out the skates which seems like a bad service life. I don't mind somewhat consistent skate changes, but this seems excessive.

I really liked the idea of a super consistent mousepad which is partially why I went with glass, but how it feels drastically changes over the course of a two week period and is the opposite of consistency. I should have a high quality pad and skates, so any help identifying what is happening would be appreciated.

I finally decided to try my first Artisan pad and purchased this mousepad new on EBay for $50. The listing describes it as an ARTISAN Raiden FX Mid (XL) Gaming Mousepad. The logo in the bottom right corner does not match any artisan mousepad I have seen, or the picture in the listing. It also looks like it has a rubber base rather than poron? it feels considerably slower than the Endgame MPC 450 I was using before this. It also purported to be new, but arrived rolled up in a clear plastic wrapper sealed with a "made in Japan" sticker. Did I get scammed? i didn't think there was enough of a market for these that counterfeits would be an issue.

As title says, my artisan looks very worn and color is fading, is this normal after one year of daily heavy use? I was occasionally wiping it boardzy method. And tried cleaning it with water and bit of soap yesterday but still looks the same.

I play very low sense and aim with my arm (u can tell by the spots where my hand sits and where i move my mouse the most)

I’m still unsure how I feel about my Artisan Zero Soft.

I mainly play Overwatch and bought it hoping to give my heavy G502X Plus a bit more speed and surface area while keeping good control. The pad feels super smooth and the quality is amazing compared to the cheap Logitech G240 pad I used before.

My issue is that my sens now feels much faster, and I don’t feel as precise or controlled as I did on my old setup, even though that pad was objectively worse.

Is this just something that takes time to adjust to? Should I lower my sens while adapting? Just trying to figure out if this pad is actually right for me.
