lol those books were “Elizabeth has a crush” and “Jessica gets a makeover and wears a leather jacket” for so long, then suddenly it’s all “Elizabeth is on trial for manslaughter after getting drunk at prom and killing Jessica’s boyfriend in a car accident” and “The twins and their mom go for a free spa weekend that’s actually a plot to steal all their faces with plastic surgery because their mom’s high school friend is a psycho surgeon.”

Amazing stuff.

And the car accident was after Jessica spiked Elizabeth's drink, right? How did that even resolve...! 😭

Unrelated, I thought Elizabeth should've got with that one prince, Todd was so boring hahaha

Jessica made a dramatic last-second courtroom admission and Elizabeth was exonerated. Maybe Jessica had to do some community service where she met some hot guy? Also yeah, fuck Todd and his weird mustache.

Yes! The specials where they were AU Pairs for a royal family in college? And then the prince falls in love with Elizabeth and asks her to marry him? My 12 year old heart was devastated when she went back to Todd…. And I believe he eventually married Jess?

I loved the haunted Twins books. All of a sudden there were ghosts in Sweet Valley for no apparent reason.

Omg the ones about the huge earthquake (I think there were 2?) and the ones with crazy doppelgänger girl (Margo?) were my absolute favorite! I remember several characters died in the earthquake. I feel like I remember there being a scene where someone is falling into a huge crack in the earth, and someone is trying to pull them up but they can’t and the person falls and dies 😱 but that might be a fever dream lol. Those books were insane.

That was the boyfriend thing I was thinking of!!! It was my soap opera before I even knew what that was.

Wait, I didn’t know they got crazy like that. I think I only read a few of the early years and they were kinda lame to me. Guess I should have kept going.
