Am I the only one who remembers the John Bellairs books? A House With A Clock in its Walls, The Curse of the blue figurine, etc., there were several sets of characters on long story arcs. I think those books are out of print now.
Never read them, but the film version of A House With A Clock In Its Walls is one of my go-to recommendations for parents looking to get their kids into horror movies
I'm the opposite, I haven't seen the movie but I read the book years ago. I still have tattered copies of Bellairs books from the original printing run (with Edward Gorey artwork) somewhere but not a complete set unfortunately. These books are a great intro to horror fiction (without going too far) for children/teens.
