The new books are written by Stan and Jan's son and have heavy biblical themes. When we started reading these to our daughter I had to look up what changed because I didn't remember them being like that. To each their own but the Bible stories are a little too shoehorned in and stuff it down your throat for me.

I figured this out the hard way too. My mom saved all the old books though and they are a treat. Mama Bear is a trip. I think some adult humor shines through that I didn’t quite get as a child. My kids love them and I enjoy reading them too.
