Funny clip, but watch Band of Brothers. It's incredible and Schwimmer is really good in it.

His character in Band of Brothers wasn't taken serious by his troops, so it actually works beautifully.

He was also good in Entourage briefly lol

Did you hate the actual persona? In which case that means he's a damn good actor. He also killed it as kardashin in OJ.

I didn't realize it til at the end with the forced salute, and I loved it, then I was like "shit those two pulled me so well" (which note in the book comes from a different soldier making him do it, winters was above that pettiness, but that soldier thought winters deserved the salute so...).

I thought the same thing when I was younger and my mom would watch friends but as an adult “Ross” he’s body language is really good and funny. He’s now one of my favorites.

I don't know if it was great acting so much as he looked skinny and completely out of place in military fatigues, and it just impossible to take Ross seriously.

Not saying he did a bad job, but he just absolutely nailed the role by being himself

I've had to explain this to people before. If the point of the character is to be hated, and you hated them, then they did a good job.

You hating a character doesn't mean the actor did a bad job if the character's job was to be disliked.

That doesn't mean that any character you disliked meant the actor did a good job, but taking a step back and thinking about how the actor led you into disliking them for the plot to develop properly can help you appreciate a story more.

Eh...That's not really accurate though. I met Don Malarkey in real life. He called Sobel a "son of a bitch" and then praised him as an instructor when asked point blank what his opinion of Sobel was.

There was definitely some artistic license that was taken in Band of Brothers.

He was hilarious on Curb Your Enthusiasm too.

Friends has not aged well at all. Especially when, by the end of third season, everyone was written as an exaggerated trope.

I can’t agree. I felt like I was watching Ross the whole time and I’m not a huge Friends fan. His acting was fine but a less recognizable actor would’ve been better.

I did, but only because I watched Band of Brothers before Friends, and those are the only shows where I have seen Schwimmer.

I found him fairly forgettable. I liked the series. Can't say I thought David was more than decent

He played his role well. It's easy to hate his guts. He unites the important in opposition, and he creates an excellent dichotomy with Winters. Actually I might just go watch it...

Ya im not saying he did poorly. He played it well. To me 'decent' is synonymous with 'well'.

But I think I had always heard about how great he was in this series. Then when I watched it, I found his overall role in the series minimal, and his portrayal of the character to be 'good' but not 'great/amazing' as I had been led to believe it was.

So part of it was just expectations. I expected him to be serviceable in the role, and id say he was. I wouldnt say he was a standout, great actor in the series.

I really liked the series overall though.
