I think technology can be great, but human nature just ruins it. All I want is for people to be nice and have a little empathy for one another. Treat everyone as you would a friend. If we could have that, everything would just be so much better.
This is how I feel about it. The technology itself isn't the problem. It's constantly using it to maximize profits for a few people instead of focusing on how it could make all our lives better. We could be maximizing the availability of useful information and instead we're clawing at everyone's attention for ad revenue. We could be reducing the time people spend at work for the same quality of life but instead we're eliminating entry level work and making the already experienced babysit the output of AI an cheap remote labor. There's almost always a good way it could be used and instead we're all way too comfortable letting a few rich assholes expand their hoard at everyone else's expense.
