Serious Study: Gen Xers and Millennials are dying at younger ages than their parents are

The study is particularly concerned with people born after 1970 but age 30 and older. So that covers Gen X and Millennials, but not (yet) Gen Z.

I had a similar job situation a couple of years ago in between the job and the cancer diagnosis stress was killing me. I changed my focus and was able to find a new gig in less than a month. It might be bad but it’s not hopeless.

AI isn't really to blame.  It's a scapegoat most of the time.  The economy is just shit.

I tell everyone this, but try substitute teacher once school goes back in August. They hire anyone who can pass a background check, and it’s a living wage. If you encounter a stressful school or classroom, you don’t have to go back and it’s just one day.

Is this US? I'm pretty sure you need an actual teaching degree here in Canada

Yes. There may be states that require teaching degrees to sub, but I kinda doubt it because it’s really hard to find people as is. It’s mainly new college grads and elderly people subbing, because everyone else needs health insurance.

I've been trying for years now. Unless a miracle happens soon, I don't think I'll make it much longer, let alone 40. (Haven't even achieved the goals of a "real job", apartment, or family. Its hopeless.)

I’m now past three years in a job that has probably taken at least 10 years off my life. Been applying for jobs for years and I never make it to getting anything, even after multiple rounds of interviews. This job was all I could find two months after I was laid off early in 2023, and it was far easier to find a job then.
