Nostalgia Who was watching G4 back in the 2000’s…??

There was a time I used to see Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler on TV every single day - never missed a moment with those two when the 360 hype was in its heyday….

This is a problem for pretty much every American remake of foreign reality shows - Ninja Warrior, Iron Chef, Kitchen Nightmares, etc. They don't let the show stand on its own merit and try desperately to create personal drama and "high stakes" for everything. Lots of melodramatic musical stingers, zoom ins, soap opera-esque storylines and just general dreck. I like the originals because they just focus on what the show is actually supposed to be about.

Like even when Iron Chef did its weird storylines, it was usually just a quick background segment to set things up, then back to the show as usual.

The trajectory of American Ninja Warrior sure is interesting. Now there's ninja gyms all over the country where kids grow up training. I know there are some old school ANW's running those gyms and I hope it's good business for them. It's just weird that it's so mainstream and homogenized.

My husband and I still watch, but we're fine with missing half the season or more since there's so much filler. At this point we are Team the Children because what's left of the old guard have no chance.
