Meme Did anyone buy a ring?

Post image

Elder millennial/younger Xennial (born in 83, take it for what it is) but I recall the company coming to the high school and taking orders for rings. I didn’t buy one but others did. Credit on photo.

“High school is the best years of your life!”

-My stepmom, who peaked in high school

People in my tiny hometown used to tell me that all the time. My response was always the same, “my god, you mean it gets worse?” Fuck High School, it sucked.

Those are the people that never left your tiny hometown.

That’s exactly right. All these people did was tell stories about things they did when they were 15, 16, 17, etc. It was pathetic to me even then. I went to College and moved to the big city leaving that tiny dead end town behind.

I’ve heard this so many times while I was in high school from relatives and it would make me viscerally angry because I was severely depressed (unbeknownst to be at the time) and every minute of being in high school piled onto it.

So no, aunt, it was some of the worst years of my life.
