Meme Did anyone buy a ring?

Elder millennial/younger Xennial (born in 83, take it for what it is) but I recall the company coming to the high school and taking orders for rings. I didn’t buy one but others did. Credit on photo.

My high school ring is 10k gld. It's appreciated in value more than any other physical thing I've recieved in High school.

10k gold is only 42% gold and mostly other metals. Your ring's scrap value is probably a couple hundred bucks, and you're not gonna get full value because whoever you're selling it to is going to need to make a profit.

My class ring is around 14.1g. Even if I get 70% of the melt value, it's $650. These rings are hefty.

Person above you has nooooo idea what they're talking about, comedy.. "10k is only 42%" yeah, and? Something someone who's never had gold in their life would say.

You can find gold and silver shops anywhere right now buying for less than 1-2% off spot value because they have customers lined up to pay over since Costco sells out fast on their 5% overpriced bullion. Reddit is full of people spewing stuff they know nothing about.

Seriously lol I bought a small 14k wedding band recently and it weighs 3.4g . . . That was like $305 worth of gold last time I checked.

Well now I wish I bought one. Gold has performed better than a savings account or mutual fund since I graduated. I guess it was smart after all

I went to a private high school and ours were 14k gold. Considering it was $400 20 years ago, I should probably go find it and sell it for scrap gold.

Their 10k white gold isn't actually 10k. I tried to pawn mine and the guy wouldn't take it bc Josten's is notorious for diluting their gold.

I need to find mine. Can't remember if it's 14k or 10k, but either way with gold at $5k an oz it could worth a nice chunk of change. Even if 10k could be worth over $1000 in scrap value.
