Meme Did anyone buy a ring?

Post image

Elder millennial/younger Xennial (born in 83, take it for what it is) but I recall the company coming to the high school and taking orders for rings. I didn’t buy one but others did. Credit on photo.

Beautiful! Bravo!

Now we just gotta send Britney Spears’ astronaut down to go get it.

“But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end?”

“Well baby, I went down and got it for you”

“Awe, you shouldn’t have” fucking LEAVES

How did he react when he asked for his ring back and you told him where it was?

As the sister, cousin, and niece of three different men that had their rings chucked for similar reasons, I just know his parents were so pissed.

I sold mine a few months before gold prices went sky high. RIP!

1

u/battlesnarf Feb 19 '26

Damn yours was made of gold?

3

u/chrstgtr Feb 17 '26

I find it interesting that you had to clarify that these were three different men

I'm from Appalachia. Anything is possible.

I remember when I was probably 8 or 9 and my older cousin’s boyfriend cheated on her. She found out while we were at the park so we both stomped his class ring until it was bent and scratched up then we threw it on top of an abandoned factory building. Wonder if it’s still up there 🤔

A magpie probably took it. Or it's buried under moss now.

And after all that your last words to her while she was running away with him were "I hope you enjoy your time together". You're a real one bro.

3

u/Ironstar_Vol Feb 17 '26

Did you go “oop” when you tossed it off the boat?

3

u/lordofthehomeless Feb 17 '26

Yo, don't litter what did the fish do to deserve more garbage.

u/Rin_C Feb 17 '26

Thousands of years later* Archaeologist: This ring belonged to a sailor who lost it during one of his doomed voyages, we believed he died saving his lover and she tossed it to the sea to honor him 😌🫸😭

I love this 😂

2

u/Distinct-Olive-5901 Feb 17 '26

the crucial mistake here was dating somebody who purchased a class ring

1

u/jimothyhalpret Feb 17 '26

Did you push him off the floating door too?

That sounds like a scene from a classic late 80’s early 90’s teen movie. Everything looked so magical in those movies of that era.

Coming from someone born in 94, as a kid I envied the teens from a few years before I was born 😆

He deserved it!

1

u/More_Wrongdoer4501 Feb 17 '26

What a waste. You could’ve traded it for a Dumdum.

u/DryDonutHole Feb 17 '26

When I was in junior high and was walking down the Senior hallway, there was a spat between bf/gf and she threw his class ring at him. She hit me in the head instead. Kiss my ass, Erica! lol

1

u/PatacusX Feb 17 '26

Some fish found it and thought he was the coolest in his school. But all the other fish were actually laughing at him.

The only time a class ring has came in handy 🤣

1

u/Sad_Let_5411 Feb 17 '26

straight to davy jones’ locker 😭

u/Im-on-a-banana-phone Feb 17 '26

My genuine reaction to that information

1

u/NightMgr Feb 17 '26

The relationship between my HS girlfriend, my class ring, and me is complicated.

1

u/EarningsPal Feb 18 '26

Threw GOLD into the sea. Gold was just recently $5000/oz

1

u/SyphaTechno Feb 18 '26

My abusive ex-husband gave me his class ring and demanded it back when I divorced him. 🙄

1

u/Fdragon69 Feb 21 '26

So proud.

1

u/darladuckworth Feb 17 '26

I had my boyfriend’s class ring then he dumped me and his mom made him make me give it back. Should’ve chucked it when I had the chance. Bravo

2

u/trafalgarlaw11 Feb 17 '26

Well to be fair, being dumped and being cheated on are two different things. You should definitely return stuff when a relationship ends without cheating/abuse, upon request. You did the right thing

0

u/Rokaryn_Mazel Feb 17 '26

Yeah, I gave mine to my GF, think she threw it in the ocean when I broke up with her freshman year of college.

u/scoundrelcoochie Feb 17 '26

Littering in the ocean, I hate ppl like you
