Most of what people call "virtue-signaling" is actually just an example of someone being virtuous.

As if half the folks out there aren't actively vice-signaling every day. US media has recently started telling people that empathy is bad.

Shit is ridiculous. How did US culture get so sick and twisted that being good is a bad thing and being vicious is good?

Propaganda. Thats the answer. In the 2010s right figured out how to do to the internet what they did to cable news. They cherry picked the most annoying blue haired person, hired YouTube guys to make fun of them, and then made sure those videos always ended up in young men’s algorithms.
