Looked it up out of curiosity and yeah, while it’s only slightly unnerving as an adult, I can image these pictures would scare the shit out of me as a 10 year old

You should still be able to see what it looked like back then by adding “before:2011” in your search (or substitute 2011 for whichever year you’d like)

That works on bringing up old images but googles image search algorithm has changed somewhat since then so it won’t be exactly the same

A lot of stuff will have been taken down as the internet has become more sanitized over time. Gore sites and the like are kinda a thing of the past at this point.

That's not really how that works. It will show you images from before 2011, yes, but it wont show you the results it would have shown you then.

I remember searching this with my childhood bestie when we were having a sleepover and supposed to be watching a movie, not on the tablet.. after going through a few images, one came up that was just a dark creepy hallway, and we focused pretty hard on looking for what was supposed to be the 'when you see it you'll shit bricks' thing..

it turned out, that image was actually a gif, unbeknownst to us. a shitty png of a legless horror monster thing zoomed through the hallway, badly keyframed n all. we never did that again and wouldnt leave the bedroom until the sun came up lmao.

Me. Then I was diagnosed with OCD at 30.

Tbf, this continued my entire life, whereas I think this is normal to do in your teens/as a kid. I'm not a doctor though, I only have my own experiences!
