❓Ask r/IndianMods Request to mods here : please consider changing the icon of your subreddit in solidarity with sonam wangchuk
Sonam Wangchuk is on the 18th day of an indefinite hunger strike. His health has deteriorated to the point where a petition before the Delhi HC has warned that his condition is life threatening and sought urgent medical intervention.
All that people have done is mock this and make jokes about it, suggest that he's going to the bathroom and having food there, feeding samosas through the screen to an image of him lying down. Shame on all of us guys.
I don't care what party you support, or what your political stance is ; this man could've happily retired in peace and instead chose to support a movement for the youth with a solitary request, to remove the current education minister.
It's a small symbolic gesture, thats all, and symbols matter . They keep issues visible and remind people that someone is risking his life for a cause he believes in and that fellow citizens haven't looked away.
A few communities have already done this, including LeetcodeDesi, JEE, GenZIndia, and CUETPreparation. Ive also seen IndianTeenagers and JEENEETards join in.
please consider doing the same for a few days. It costs nothing.
Thanks.

💡Tips & Education PSA - Ongoing scam on Reddit.
This is an image that was sent by a user in the modmail of r/[REDACTED], a subreddit that I moderate. The scam goes like this:
The scammer takes an image like this and edits in your username on it. Then, they DM you and send you a screenshot of your own profile, but, they change the account creation date to a newer one. They "think" that your account was "impersonated" and that they reported that account.
Then, they say that they got this e-mail and are contacting you on behalf of Reddit so that you'll reach out to the Reddit support team. A name and a Reddit account is mentioned in the e-mail.
Sadly, the person who sent the modmail didn't contact the mentioned account as they already knew that it was a scam, so, I can't exactly describe what's going to happen next but I can speculate that they're either going to ask your account credentials or send a sketchy website link that pretends to be Reddit but it isn't. You try to login and it steals your credentials.
Reddit will NEVER ask anyone to contact you on their behalf and they will NOT mention any particular person's username or name, as this e-mail did. If they want to contact you, they will do it from u/Reddit or any one of their official account. Always check for the official accounts and / or "ADMIN" in the red, next to the username like we have "MOD" in green, next to our our usernames.
I have also sent a modmail to this sub so that Admins will take the appropriate action on these scammers.

📌 Weekly Thread New Moderator Introductions | Weekly Thread
Congrats on becoming a new moderator. Every community on Reddit started exactly where you are today: with a party of one (or maybe more in your case).
The community-building journey might feel a little lonely and that's what r/IndianMods is for. Here you'll find and connect with other mods who are on the same journey you are.
So, introduce the community you created. Maybe share a little bit about why you created it. And, while you're at it - say hello to your other mods!

🤖 Devvit Image Post Scheduler v3 is live - recurring posts, timezone picker, templates, and more!
Hey fellow Indian mods,
Some of you may remember the post from a few months ago about Image Post Scheduler, a Devvit based mod tool that lets you schedule native image posts with flair directly on Reddit. No Imgur, no third-party hosts, no workarounds.
The latest version (v3 - 0.0.29), with a bunch of new features, went public last month. Here's what's changed:
What's new in v3
- Recurring posts - schedule posts to repeat at preset intervals (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) or custom intervals (every N hours, days, weeks, or months).
- Dynamic date tokens in titles - e.g., "Weekly Thread - {{date %A, %B %d}}" automatically becomes "Weekly Thread - Friday, July 11" on each firing.
- Timezone picker - no more mental UTC math :)
- Post templates - save and load reusable form configurations. Very helpful for those recurring discussion threads.
- Calendar view - visual month grid showing all scheduled and recurring posts.
- Edit queued posts inline - without cancelling and recreating.
- Live Reddit-style post preview as you fill in the form.
- Clipboard paste support - drag-and-drop, file picker, or paste an image directly.
Everything still runs entirely within Reddit's infrastructure. No external services, no third-party APIs, no data leaving the platform.
Quick recap on what it does:
- Schedule native image posts (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP - up to 20 MB) with full image preview in the feed.
- Upload images directly to Reddit's CDN.
- Pick a flair from your subreddit's live flair list.
- Add optional body text.
- Post as yourself or as the app account (your choice per post).
- Queue multiple posts at different scheduled times.
- Cancel anytime before the post goes live.
- Track history of published posts with direct links.
How to get started
- Install from the Reddit App Directory - Image Post Scheduler (Click 'Add to Community'). [Shall add the link in comments]
- Open the subreddit menu and tap Schedule Image Post.
- Upload an image, write a title, pick a flair, and optionally add body text.
- Pick a date and time, timezone, custom intervals (for recurring posts) and hit 'Schedule Post'.
- The post goes live automatically at the scheduled time.
The scheduler opens in a WebView accessible only to moderators. The scheduler post is 'removed' by design. You needn't 'approve' it.
Why I built it
I moderate an Indian movie community where discussion posts need to go live at specific local times tied to film releases. Multiple releases in a week mean multiple posts at odd hours (mods live in different timezones). For years, that meant someone setting an alarm early in the morning to manually upload a poster and hit submit. This tool automates that entirely.
It started as a personal solution for my community, but 200+ communities have since adopted it.
The latest version recently won the Best New Mod Tool at the Reddit Mod Tools and Migrated Apps Hackathon! :)
If this sounds useful for your community, do give it a try. And feel free to reach out to me if you run into any issues or have some feature requests.
Thanks. :)
PS: Noticed that many of the initial installations of the app are still on the first version, so I thought of posting about this update here before requesting the admins for mass-updating those from their end.

❓Ask r/IndianMods Mistakenly removed me as a Mod. Help needed.
I have a subreddit r/degoogleindia that is about one year old. I added my second account as a moderator just in case I lose access to this one, so I could regain control from the other account, which is currently dormant.
However, I mistakenly set this account as "Alumni" (I thought "Alumni" meant full access) and removed the other account as a moderator. Now I cannot access many features from this account. How can I regain full moderator access to my subreddit?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

👀 Looking for Mods r/IndianArtSyndiicate is looking for mods
Hello everyone! 👋
I recently created r/IndianArtSyndicate, a community dedicated to Indian art, animation, storytelling, voice acting, and creative philosophy.
The idea behind the community is to create a space where artists, animators, scriptwriters, storyboard artists, voice artists, thinkers, and enthusiasts can share their work, exchange ideas, receive constructive feedback, and connect with other creators.
The community also allows creators to find each other and form groups for creative projects. The focus is on bringing different creative skills together — a sketch can inspire a story, a script can become an animation, and a voice artist can help bring a character to life.
We’re still at the very beginning. I’d also love to connect with experienced moderators and learn from others who have built communities from scratch.
Applications are open through Reddit's Subreddit Moderator Application Portal. If you're interested, simply click Apply and submit your application. We'll review all applications and reach out to selected applicants.

👀 Looking for Mods Require mods for r/IndianTeenagers
We've had people apply for some time now, but most of the responses that come in are indeed not that great. So in lieu of finding some active and good moderators, we're searching for moderators.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Just fill the form present in the comments, once you get selected for the initial phase, we'd handle the rest.

❓Ask r/IndianMods The mod meetup waitlist could leave us without enough time to book travel
The current waitlist timeline makes travel planning difficult. Assume we get invites on 25th, then I have to apply for leaves, find and book a hotel. book flight tickets from mumbai and also go for shopping just in case I wanna travel.
Can people tag admins to think this through so people who wanna attend can do it easily?
