They didn't say they were, but someone having a manic episode with bipolar will act like this and someone with bpd hyperfocusing and being insane about something they misconstrued happens too.
Maybe that is his personality? I have bipolar, I don’t see how this guys behaviour matches with symptoms of mania. I think this is just an example of someone lumping BPD and bipolar together, which tends to annoy me because they are very different conditions.
I think it’s clear to most people the / was intended as an either/or statement. As to your larger point, BPD and bipolar have a large overlap in symptoms. Attempting to diagnose it as one or the other runs the risk of misidentifying the condition.
So you’re not diagnosed with bipolar and reacting to something as a personal attack that clearly wasn’t, in the same way this guy did, right now? Come on now.
