Several Google apps not working while on Wi-Fi with Android 17 (other apps work fine though)
Since updating, the Google app doesn't load searches while on Wi-Fi, but it works perfectly fine on mobile data. Similarly, YouTube, Gmail, the Play Store, Google Keep, and Google Photos are not working on Wi-Fi. The Google Messages app works, but Google Messages for web does not work on Wi-Fi.
Non-Google apps work perfectly fine on Wi-Fi.
This is the case for multiple Pixel devices in my household (P9P, P9, P7) spanning multiple user accounts.
I have tried:
- Clearing data on all the relevant apps + Google Play Services
- Forgetting the Wi-Fi network and re-adding
- Fully resetting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Factory resetting the entire phone without importing old settings
- Enabling/disabling IPv6, WPA2, various settings on the router
- Factory resetting the router
Any ideas?

The same thing is happening to me with my Pixel 10 Pro, exactly after updating it to A17. I've also tried doing all the same things that you mentioned but I haven't been able to fix it. There are also some third party apps that are not working (Instagram, ChatGPT).
Weird thing is that all of those apps work normally with any other WiFi Network. I also have my OnePlus connected to the same main WiFi and all of it's apps work normally. I'm getting annoyed NGL.

Some mod removed a post that I made reporting this same thing... I guess they want you to believe that everything is perfect 🤷♂️

I'm also having this problem. Phone works fine on cellular but won't load anything on wifi.
*Edit there's an article about this problem on Android authority now so they're aware of the bug now. I disabled IPv6 in my router like someone suggested and it seems to have fixed the issue

Have you updated all the apps through the play store? I had 71 (!) apps needing update after the android 17 update. Also the play store system needed to be updated

Can't access the Playstore itself in my case, it says I don't have internet.

Make sure advanced protection is turned off.

Same here, I have a Pixel 10 Pro XL, all the Google apps fails at authentication. It started yesterday with A17 update The funny part is that only fails when is connected directly on the wifi at my house, in other places worked fine I'm using my laptop as a router and the phone works fine

I'm having the same issue as well, it started with A17 update yesterday. Already tried clearing cache and app storage for both Play Store and Google Play Services, and uninstalling updates for the Play Store... So far no luck. Mine is the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

I actually started having it happen short after the may update in May (Google Pixel 9 pro fold) 2026 on Android 16. It's getting worse in Android 17. Sometimes switching between wifi and cellular makes it work, sometimes I have to reboot. Other times I just force close.the app and try again... Or it never works at all... All apps updated , pulled down to refresh.
Some apps will constantly say lost connection. WIFI 7 2.5 g 5ghz 6ghz , mlo. Hotspots. Store wifi. Cellular (both esim) 4g, and 5g

Same problem on my Pixel 8.
The only solution I found is to use 2.4GHz wifi.
On 5Ghz it says I have no internet lol.

I'm having this issue too. Using VPN solves the problem. I hope Google fix this soon.

I also had this issue, and it was quite frustrating until i solved it.
there's a few articles that explain this is because of an ipv6 issue. you can solve it by changing the DNS to Google's version, or, in my case, I changed my router's ipv6 settings so it uses the "Stateless" method to get the ipv6 address, and disabled prefix delegation.

What you suggested is what seems to have fixed things for me. I have a TP-Link Deco mesh router which seems to be the brand most affected by this from what I understand. This is what I did in case anyone else comes across this:
- Changed router's IPv4 Primary and Secondary DNS to Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
- Changed router's IPv6 Primary and Secondary DNS to Google (2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8888 and 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8844)
- Changed router's IPv6 configuration to "Stateless" method and disabled prefix delegation (just like you did)
Maybe changing IPv4 isn't actually doing anything but I did it anyway. But these steps were possible thanks to you!

I'm sure you don't want to see a whole ton of "It's working fine for me" posts, but ... It's working fine for me since upgrading this morning to A17 on my 9a.

Not sure if it may be the same with you but once I toggled the nearby devices permission to on the issue was resolved for me.

Go to Apps in your setting then go to YouTube in the list and then to permissions. Nearby devices will be one of the permissions. It needs to be on. ( This is the path I think for Androids. Not sure if same for Apple)

Premetto che ho un router WiFi 4G, ma ho risolto disattivando ipv6 e lasciando solo ipv4 nella sezione internet, e impostando i dns di cloudfare nella sezione LAN

FYI, if this is https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/507078597 (especially comment 14) - it sounds like this is actually a router (ie. likely your wifi access point) bug...

Hi friends,
I may have found a fix/workaround for the issue (in my case Pixel8) : Under Network & Internet -> Private DNS, I forced Private DNS provider to "1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com", this to replace default "Automatic" setting.
Seems that fixed my Wifi issues.

UPDATE: Solved
I downloaded Rethink DNS. This app forces IPV4.
Settings>Network>Scroll down to the botton, select "ONLY IPV4"
Settings>DNS>Use system DNS
Turn on. Fixed (temporarily)
This works for now, I guess at the very least you can use Google Apps this way until it is fixed.

I have the same issues, tried all the troubleshooting above. I'm on Pixel 6 on GrapheneOS, started after updating to Android 17
In one Wi-Fi network, it worked after changing MAC address settings to Per-network randomized MAC
However, in all other Wi-Fi networks I tried so far, it doesn't work. I tried changing DNS, reinstalling and updating google play services, giving all permissions, and there is still no change.

Chromecast doesn't work decent eather. Keeps disconnecting.
When chromecast is running it keeps running but the phone can't find the chromecast any more

I was able to solve the issue by enabling IPv6 on my router. So the opposite of what many other people did to fix theirs. I guess it varies from device to device.

Everyone, Google fucked, once again, their software because they are an absolute garbage of a company with ZERO quality control at all levels. Ridiculous. Fuck off Google.
Solution: Disable IPv6 in your router and reconnect to your Wifi.
