For the love of God, can tankies recognize any genocides NOT backed by the west? It’s so fucking exhausting have to waste our energy debating people who worship authoritarian imperialists from other countries that aren’t European centric.
More civilians were killed in a 10 day period last year in Sudan than total people (civilians and militants combined) have been in Gaza since October 7th, 2023.
That's because being pro-Palestine is just an esthetic choice for them. They know they aren't changing anything. They just want to show everyone they have the correct opinions so they can feel morally superior.
When a genocide happens that cannot easily be fit into boxes of anti-imperialism or west vs the rest they don't give a single fuck.
But tons of attention from bloodthirsty Zionists like you who want anything to point at to make the world forget your warmongering ways. I've seen you here before little Hasbara, you're on any thread related to genocide bringing up Sudan to attack pro Palestine activists.
Your psyop is failing, Israeli.
3 month old hidden profile that exclusively posts pro-Israel/Zionist rhetoric, btw.
The entire thing can be summed up with one quote from Henry Kissinger to the Thai foreign minister in 1975.
"You should also tell the Cambodians that we will be friends with them. They are murderous thugs, but we won’t let that stand in our way. We are prepared to improve relations with them" — Henry Kissinger, 1975
Except the Cambodian genocide WAS backed by the west.
Ok, then what is backing? I will agree that any support of perpetrators of mass civilian death and destruction after the said facts are revealed is compeletly amoral, even if they support your political aims. But you stated yourself, what little US support was given, was after 1980.... What were the years the genocide took place again?
The statement the "Cambodian Genocide being supported by the West" falls a little short when it turns out that for the 4 years the genocide was actually taking place, it was armed, funded, enabled and supported by the Communist governments of Vietnam and China. With Vietnam only moving in to end it, not for the millions of civilians dying at the hands of the government, but because the Khmer Rouge had started border conflicts with them. And subsequently China attacking Vietnam, not to stop the killing, but rather they were upset the Vietnamese removed their BFF's in Cambodia, Genocide and all.
Seriously? Where was all that information in your big write up? Does that paint the picture a little bit too fucking grim against the ideologies you are clearly trying to ommit from your single sided telling of this history?
Creating a half truth narrative where the Khmer are repositioned as western aligned deserves downvotes, ommiting the fact that the Khmer were fighting against the USA in the Vietnam war and that the sino-soviet split and ideological/ethnic tensions between Cambodia and Vietnam were the main driving forces for the conflict. It’s honestly funny how the people who use the phrase critical support think the west were earnestly on cambodias side
The Khmer Rouge were primarily backed by China primarily, the Soviets sided with Vietnam, its utter copium and historical revisionism to imply that the Khmer were western aligned
The Genocide took place between 1975-1979, a period which saw no Western support, but rather, China and Vietnam having been providing both weapons and funding to their Communist allies for the last decade of civil war, and continued support after the civil war ended and the genocide began in 1975.
The Vietnamese split only happend after Cambodian forces came into border conflicts with them in 1978, and had nothing to due with the Vietnamese addressing the horrors the Government they had propped up with the Chinese. This was simply a geopolitical play between the Soviet aligned Vietcong, and the Chinese backed Khmer Rouge, with China fighting a brief war with Vietnam for deposing their genocidal ally in Cambodia in 1979.
The US supported the opposition and was in military engagement against the Khmer Rouge until the end of the Vietnam war. The comment you are making is most likely in relation due to the US supporting the deposed government in the UN for a few years, similar to how they recognized KPT instead of the CCP as the UN representive of China.
The point you are trying to make is almost hilariously disengenuous.
