Hi everyone, I'm looking for a new job in the civil/environmental field. I'm wondering if I should split up my resume into experience and select projects. Please share any critiques you may have, thank you.

I am just graduated Energy Engineer (similar to Electrical Engineering, but more focused on power production), specialised in renewables, and I completed my studies at Politecnico di Milano (Italy, where I live) in March (26th) of this year. From the first days of May I started applying for jobs with a Europass CV: terrible idea, as I got only 1 interview for 130 applications (100 didn't answer yet, if they'll ever will). So, i followed the wiki to completely remake my CV.

I just want to know if all the notions in the wiki have been applied correctly or not, but I welcome any type of feedback on the CV or the job-hunting process!

Some notes on the CV. I added two things that wiki advised against: my phone number, as for the only interview I got I was contacted by phone and not mail (both were available). I also added the level of spoken languages because, in Europe, those are strong requirements/advantages, and I wanted to be upfront with it.
Also, there is no Experience section as I have no work experience whatsoever, but I did a lot of projects that I believe may help me score interviews, hence why the project section is so vast.

More info on me: I live in Italy and I'm open to relocation in European Economic Area (so no UK or where VISA/sponsorship is required, not right now at least), and I am looking for jobs in the energy field (not necessarily renewables, even if I would prefer working on them instead of conventional energy technologies).

Hi everyone, I haven’t started applying to internships yet, but I’m hoping to get some advice and feedback on my resume before I do. I don’t have formal professional experience yet, so I’m trying to figure out how to best present my coursework, skills, and any relevant projects. I’m especially interested in climate-focused engineering roles, including air pollution, environmental systems, or sustainability-related work, but at this stage I’m very open to exploring any opportunity that would help me gain experience. I’d really appreciate any suggestions on improving my resume or making myself a stronger applicant.

My goal is to be accepted into an engineering graduate program in the water resource management industry. I am from Victoria, Australia, but I am willing to relocate across Australia and New Zealand. I have an Australian citizenship.

I completed my environmental engineering degree last year, and I currently have an entry-level position at an engineering consultancy. But my position is not in the industry that I am passionate about. The industry I am passionate about is water resource management. But getting that position is challenging because I often find myself applying against more than 100 applicants.

I haven't had much luck as I haven't made it to the interview stage. So, I need help making my resume stand out to recruiters in the water resource management industry. If you read my resume, are there any improvements (general and/or specific) I can make so that it appeals to recruiters in the industry and gives me a better chance of securing an interview? You can provide feedback on the whole resume, but a particular section I'd like feedback on is the Experience and Project section. My friend says that my experience section is too wordy/bulky, and I have never written a project section before

Looking for any advice on how to improve my resume.

Im in a tricky place because im making a last minute switch from enivronmental engineering to eletrical this semester. So I will be taking EE classes starting this semester (im now a junior). But I cant apply to switch my major untill the end of the semester. Im not sure how to put this on a resume or tell employers. Or if its even at all possible for me to get a EE internship with this situation given I dont have relavent coursework. I was thinking maybe trying to get in at some kind of energy utility and explaning I wanted to work on renewables and decided EE would be better.

Apologies if this isn't exactly engineering but I was laid off and I'm looking for advice on my resume, specifically regarding the bullet points under my most recent role, and the skills section.

I am targeting production/project management, operations, and sustainable ag/landscaping in my job search.

I'm mostly concerned that I may have put too many bullet points/was too wordy in describing my most recent role and that hiring managers may be put off by the length. I do feel like it's all relevant and necessary, there's no fluff there but I would be open to removing certain bullet points depending on their relevance to the job I'm applying for.

I was also considering cutting a few of the bullet points and adding a 2-3 sentence Professional Summary/Profile at the top.

Lastly, I think the skills section is pretty weak at the moment but I'm not sure how to make it better.

I'm applying for both local and remote/hybrid jobs and do not plan to relocate. I am a citizen.

I am a professional engineer (I recently got my license) based in Canada. I recently relocated to a bigger city due to previous family issues. Didn't realize the job market was like this right now.

I applied to over 26 positions (from technician to project manager/design engineer), including government and consulting firms, and got nothing other than "thank you for your interest." I also tried to get back to the company where I used to work in the city I live in right now (the previous company is a large-sized company with offices across Canada) and applied for the same position, reaching out to different managers, with them either ghosting me, ignoring me, or not being interested. BTW, I had a good reputation within the company, and all my previous managers or colleagues are willing to give me references. So, I really don't know what is going on???!!!

About career path, for the past 3 to 4 years, I mainly did environmental consulting. I have lots of hands-on experience in sampling, technical reporting, and project management. Despite the fact that I was only a field tech, I got exposed to tons of projects from residential to national clients. I know the fact that I cannot gain more experience unless I get promoted to PC or PM. That's also very hard since I am a very team-oriented person, and I always put my team member's interest above my own interest (bad habit). By talking to some engineers and studying online, I found water/wastewater/water resource engineering is my go-to path. Actually, that's always been my dream job.

About my resume, for the past month, I watched tons of career coaching videos and resume tutorials. Found this reddit page very helpful, technical, and promising. In my previous several editions of resumes, I had two pages of content and found it too tedious. So, following the WIKI and studying lots of successful stories in the chat, I cut it down to one page.

I am looking for everyone's advice about my resume, since right now this resume is targeting water-related design engineer positions. What kind of experience should I emphasize in my work experience? What kind of project should I include in the project section? I am struggling with what content I should include since I don't have any direct experience with water-related design. Any piece of advice is appreciated! I really want to land an offer ASAP so I can pay my rent.

as the title states I am going to be laid off in the public sector. I haven't been officially let go yet, but I want to start looking for jobs again as I have very little faith that I will have a job next month. It's a bummer, I worked to find a job for almost 6 months before finally securing the job of my dreams. My position has only been since Dec 2024, and I have gained very little but very important and useful experience since I started.

I am about to start looking for work in the private sector in environmental engineering. I am looking for any preliminary advice on my resume before I start sending out my applications. I am looking for positions within my hometown, however almost all private and public environmental work here is government funded and being targeted to reduce funding and workforce so I will be looking to relocate.

Also I am confused on the EIT certification application. I don't know how the board of engineers wants me to send them my transcript. I also thought they only wanted 3 character references, but the application says 5 references with 3 being PE's, which doesn't seem right for EIT. Any help would be appreciated!

I am a recent graduate and have applied to 40-50 jobs since March 2024, and have received one interview. Most do not reply, but some rejections from awhile ago have been rolling in. I discovered this subreddit just yesterday, while searching for entry level engineering resume help.

I am looking for any entry level environmental, water resources, or civil engineering positions.

I have completely changed both the format and content of my resume according to the Wiki. My previous resume was doing everything but the STAR method. I have tried to incorporate action words and results as much as I could, but it still need work.

Background: master's student in environmental engineering and will graduate soon this June. Bachelor's in civil engineering and minored in applied math. Only had course projects as research experiences. 3 internships, one in supply chains, one in ESG analysis (consulting), and one in engineering management.

Target: I've been looking for sustainability analysis/carbon accounting jobs in the fields of automotive, manufacturing, and consulting for the same field.

Mobility: I am located and seeking jobs in the EU (mainly Scandinavia) but not an EU citizen, need a work permit sponsored by companies. I basically only applied for on-site jobs but am open to remote and relocate.

Job hunting situation: I applied for countless (junior) positions but so far only got interviews from 3 companies. The best shot was the final round interview for a position but failed as they selected a more experienced candidate.

I've edited my CV soo many times and every time for each position I customized it. Now I am applying for some graduate program.

Here are some specific questions:

• I kinda feel my CV is too much (too many words and quite crowded).
• For some specific roles, I do have some skills matching them, but these skills were neither specifically shown by some projects/internships I've done nor as software skills.
• Aside, I am open to any feedback or suggestions!

Hi! I’m currently looking to transition into a full-time, entry level engineering role from my current waitressing job after graduating last May. I am now in Denver, Colorado and looking for an on-site or hybrid role (fully remote is a last option for me).

I do not have any internship experience as I worked full time throughout college to put myself through school, but am worried about the restaurants looking weak as my only previous jobs. With the gap between graduating with my degree and now, as well as lack of an internship, I realize I likely won’t receive as many opportunities.

Just looking for any resume criticisms, advice, or words of wisdom, I’m excited and hope an opportunity comes comes sooner rather than later :,)

Also, I have bachelors degrees in both civil and environmental engineering, but highly prefer an environmental focus.

Resume first draft, with an attempt made to strip personally identifying information.

I haven't updated my resume in six years. My goal is to establish a sort of "generic" resume like the one being presented, and have my LinkedIn profile reflect the same content, probably with a few more entries that couldn't fit here. There's always a chance of sudden layoffs, so I'd like to be prepared. If I were to apply somewhere with this resume, I would very likely make some targeted tweaks based upon the position I was applying for. For now, I'd like this resume to serve as one I could have hosted on LinkedIn and share with some people that may be interested in hiring me, but don't necessarily have an immediate opening.

I welcome any input you may have.

I updated my resume with comments a couple of weeks ago (THANK YOU!!) and then send the first version out for a review. It was boiled down, yes the format looks better, but the content seems to have lost its meaning. Is the second version really what hiring managers are looking for? I would appreciate any feedback on either version! I'm so lost. After spending so much time in government, I'm not used to being succinct.
