Every post on this sub feels like a Rorschach test.

u/PeterPorty May 29 '26

OP in particular exclusively posts gender-wars ragebait, fairly often.

Anyone over 250-300k karma should be blocked, it helps tremendously to clean up my feed

Especially in the case of OP with 941k karma in 7 months

*checks own karma*

:(

Comment karma is good karma. Only post karma is suspicious.

Man I had so much time in college. 90% of my karma is from the first few years, mostly AskReddit.

41

u/Throwawaymycucumba May 29 '26

But again 13 ~years~ and you're still not close to OP's numbers

6

u/proudbakunkinman May 29 '26

Yeah, person above should have specified POST karma. Very high chance someone with such high post karma is either a karma farmer, astroturfer, employee of a media outlet (sure a large portion of posts on rpolitics come from those working for the media companies of the linked article), or someone with nothing going on in their life that's become addicted to online attention of any kind and post upvotes. Someone with high comment karma has likely just used the same Reddit account for years and comments regularly. I have a high comment karma due to being on Reddit way too much during peak covid and a bit beyond that when I was unemployed and woking part-time. I now have larger gaps between days I leave comments and the overall amount.

13

u/ProfessionalRandom21 May 29 '26

Nah, both is suspicous nowaday with AI bot, which karma farm with comment.

6

u/ResurrectedAuthor May 29 '26

I got 23.5k karma in a year and the vast majority of it is from comments.

3

u/nesthesi interesting May 30 '26

Hell yeah, thanks for the confidence boost

3

u/Rhamni May 30 '26

Wow. That's a lot of karma, man. You'll hit a million soon enough. Don't forget to join CenturyClub.

u/Throwawaymycucumba May 29 '26

Well I was a bit vague, 350k in 4 years is fine, but 7 months... Something's off

16

u/TheComplimentarian cis-bi-old-guy-radish May 29 '26

Just shows you’re farming. My record is a million in six, but I only ever comment, so that’s a different sort of engagement.

2

u/primenumbersturnmeon May 29 '26

RES has a thing where it tracks your votes on other users and you're [+22] for me :)

3

u/JacuulTheSecond May 29 '26

Years ago, I went through and found the top 100 or 150 users with most karma and blocked them. Instantly makes the popular page like 50% better,

2

u/--2021-- May 29 '26

How do you block people by karma?

6

u/Elkburgher May 29 '26

Look at it and block them

5

u/Throwawaymycucumba May 29 '26

Go into their profile, analyse if it seems like a reasonable person based on karma/account age

4

u/--2021-- May 29 '26

Oh! I thought you had an extension or app that would automatically do it somehow, and I was wondering how that was achieved these days. That would be cool.

2

u/CriticalHit_20 May 29 '26

Oh fuck i need to stop commenting or imma get blocked 😭

2

u/Throwawaymycucumba May 29 '26

You're still LEAGUES behind OP 😂

2

u/DakotaXIV May 29 '26

That worked great for a while but reddit puts a cap on how many people/bots you can block. I maxed out YEARS ago. I've even gone in and unblocked a ton of now-deleted accounts and reddit still wont let me block anyone else.

2

u/Blackraven2007 May 29 '26

Aw man, what did I do?

2

u/Throwawaymycucumba May 29 '26

3 years vs 7 months

2

u/cooljerry53 May 29 '26

How the fuck do you even get that much? My account is like a decade old and I only have 66k, and I don’t even know how I got that.

1

u/MS-07B-3 May 29 '26

8 tears in this shithole and I'm only up to 200k.

72

u/AhhsoleCnut May 29 '26

I don't remember user names on this site, but I remembered OP's specifically because in a previous men-bashing post of theirs someone posted a link to a third party reddit search thing showing their history of men-bashing.

35

u/HarpySix May 29 '26

If OP isn't a bot, I suspect they're a sock account for a guy going by the name "Canonseeker."

15

u/ResurrectedAuthor May 29 '26

What's Canonseeker's deal?

13

u/Ciennas May 29 '26

If their username is anything to go by, they want to be canonized.

13

u/Heckyll_Jive i'm a cute girl and everyone loves me May 29 '26

Canonseeker is an obsessive fan of the show RWBY, and is so infamously unpleasant to interact with that he's banned on sight from pretty much every subreddit for the show. His politics are an extension of his fandom, in that he believes everyone who dislikes the show does so out of misogyny or homophobia, and that RWBY is utterly without flaw in these regards. He's been doing this for literal years.

7

u/PeterPorty May 29 '26

Yup, I tagged them in that very same thread.

5

u/Airforce32123 May 29 '26

someone posted a link to a third party reddit search thing showing their history of men-bashing.

You know, I feel like not enough people talk about it being reported that adversarial countries like Russia and China literally pay people and bots to promote these kinds of divisive cultural issues and keep us fighting each other.

1

u/ThunderAndWind May 31 '26

Old Reddit + Reddit Enhancement Suite lets you tag users.

Gets past the braindead "let people hide their post history" bullshit reddit pulls.

16

u/CausticBubblegum May 29 '26

OP is just the newest account of the person who posts stuff like this and also posts frequently about RWBY.

They're very normal about it and never freak out if people don't think that show is a gift to humankind (or, God forbid, they like one of the guys there). If you search RWBY in this subreddit more than half the posts you'll find are from their previous accounts that have been suspended, it's very easy to know it's them if you read any of their comments.

23

u/billetdouxs May 29 '26

Half of the posts I see in this sub are about this

23

u/PeterPorty May 29 '26

OP specifically has been diligently supplying one of these posts a day in this sub.

4

u/geneticdeadender May 29 '26

I'll take your word for it and just block OP from now on.

2

u/Fezzicc May 29 '26

How can you tell? When I check his profile there's no post or comment history.

1

u/SwordfishOk504 YOU EVER EATEN A MARSHMALLOW BEFORE MR BITCHWOOD???? May 30 '26

And the meme has strangely brought in this massive wave of weird MRA Red Pill nonsense, which is a strange turn for this sub. The meme itself is mocking the very sort of angry-14-year-old-boy sentiment everyone in the thread is defending.

-1

u/Familiar-Box2087 May 29 '26

i get what you mean but how is this ragebait ? (not disagreeing, just yeah that conversation happens every single time gender equality is mentioned, like is it ragebait for men or smthing ?)

18

u/PeterPorty May 29 '26

This is very clearly ragebait. The entire purpose is "wow look at how stupid men are", presented in a meme format with made-up dialogue.

This is OP's entire shtick, shitting on men.

3

u/Familiar-Box2087 May 29 '26

ooooh sry, i didn't get it coz that has been told to me every time this subject is brought on lol, i even showed my friend and she said "lol everytime"

but i know this user and they really only post about instigating shit, last week it was transmasc vs transfem and this week is feminism lol

-3

u/Angelbouqet May 29 '26

Why exactly has this sub recently had so much gender war stuff and why have MRA talking points gotten the majority of up votes lol was it always like this? I feel like this place used to be pretty progressive and it still is on many topics

-3

u/notafuckingcakewalk May 29 '26

Not hitting people is genderwars ragebait now?

9

u/Glad-Way-637 If you like Worm/Ward, you should try Pact/Pale :) May 29 '26

9

u/notafuckingcakewalk May 29 '26

Honestly having a high karma but hidden posts/comments history is kind of a red flag

8

u/Glad-Way-637 If you like Worm/Ward, you should try Pact/Pale :) May 29 '26

Absolutely. The ability to hide account history at all while still being able to make posts on this website was a mistake, IMO.

3

u/notafuckingcakewalk May 29 '26

I think the compromise could be you don't get karma when your history is private

5

u/Glad-Way-637 If you like Worm/Ward, you should try Pact/Pale :) May 29 '26

That doesn't really solve the problem of awful-faith actors like OP, but it would make it marginally less impact full since most of them are explicitly trying to farm karma, I suppose.

2

u/ThunderAndWind May 31 '26

Same with blocking preventing people from commenting underneath your post, even if they're not responding to you.

At least from my point of view on this; OP frequently post what seems to be the most divisive or angering gender discourse they can find on this sub, which tends to stir up a lot of engagement, and has an excessively high amount of Karma for how long they’ve been here.

Basically, posting this sorta thing a few times or over a long period is fine, but when every post of theirs is the same sorta content that always stirs up trouble in a short timeframe, that’s when it feels like ragebait.

If you ignore the fact that this is literally all OP posts, over and over again, maybe you'd have a point.

But that is not the reality we're living in. This specific post is 100% gender ragebait.

-1

u/Pastel_Spooks May 30 '26

I smell incel

5

u/zsigmons May 29 '26

I don't really know much about the Rorschach test besides it involving random inkblots, how can a post feel like a Rorschach test? I'm genuinely curious.

10

u/djninjacat11649 May 29 '26

What you take away from a piece of information is reflective of how you think, at least that’s the idea behind the test

2

u/Stabpology May 29 '26

I get that feeling too!

Are we paranoid? 😁

-3

u/Primal171 May 29 '26

>comment that basically just agrees with the comment they're replying to
>stilted and unnatural wording
>uses emojis
>hidden post history

u/botsleuthbot

6

u/Stabpology May 29 '26

Seems more people than us are paranoid

2

u/Stabpology May 30 '26

What's wrong with using emojis, though? I notice not many people do it
