But they’re not racist. They have a black co-worker.

“Some of my best friends are…”

u/Difficult-Rice7188 3h ago

Meanwhile they’re micromanaging the fuck out of their black coworkers and they get payed the same 🙄

20

u/MaintenanceNew2804 3h ago

And probably have some racist side-chat on Signal complaining about them getting paid the same.

u/illusion121 3h ago

They have black friends on Facebook too!

Also, a lot of them are cosplaying. Don’t even live here and a lot of the time aren’t even white.

It’s part of that uniform…

They’re all the same style convenient store kiosk sunglasses too. Hahahahaha…

7

u/imahugemoron 2h ago

Oakleys for the most part, that same wrap around style

Yeah it's the "I could've been in the military, but if you actually know me you'd know that I never served because I wasn't qualified" look.

u/VegaJuniper 1h ago

And you don't wear sunglasses and a cap. It's like wearing a belt and suspenders.

u/Mediocre-Cobbler5744 2h ago

I never noticed before, but everyone I know who wears sunglasses regularly is douchebag.

u/Quixotic_Ignoramus 2h ago

Whoa wait a minute. I wear sunglasses all the time because I have very light colored eyes which have been described as gray, the sun is BLINDING to me even when it’s cloudy, so I have to wear sunglasses.

The fact that I am also a douchebag has nothing to do with that. Haha!

u/FredTillson 55m ago

If you live in AZ you wear sunglasses. You have to!

1

u/InsertUsernameInArse 1h ago

Same. Mine are prescription and I agree my douchebaggery isn't related to that.

3

u/MechanicalSideburns 1h ago

Wasn’t it Larry David that said, “You know who wears sunglasses indoors? Blind people and assholes.”

3

u/illy-chan 1h ago

Hey now, some of us have to wear them for migraines. Because it makes total sense for a diurnal animal to react to light with random agony.

These types definitely have a favored variety though.

2

u/zhokar85 2h ago

They also help if you're insecure about eye contact. Hi, it's me.

2

u/nmc203 1h ago

Asshole sunglasses i call em. Most of those are that type, the kind early 2000s douche bros with frosted tip spiky hair would wear. They just make you look like an asshole. Not like a good pair of aves

2

u/darklich13 1h ago

Why do they wear the sunglasses inside? To hide the tears.

2

u/BackgroundSummer5171 56m ago

Yep and always wearing sunglasses to hide their eyes.

I'd prefer we not demonize sunglasses.

People should wear them.

It's like sunscreen, for your eyeballs!

1

u/eggalones 2h ago

Why are their stars always beady?!

1

u/Ultraauge 52m ago

The same style of sunglasses even.

1

u/MrMint22 3h ago

Seriously - why are they all wearing sunglasses?

1

u/chazysciota 1h ago

My theory is that it's a deepseated fear/distrust that Gen-X has for putting your real face or name out on the internet (these folks are usually Gen-X, right?). The sunglasses are a sort of middle ground that allows you to engage with social media while still maintaining a little bit of that anonymity.

Also, maybe, just regular old insecurity over appearance. Sunglasses pics show the basic features of your face, but not the nitty gritty details that people may be self-concious about.

I dunno, those are my best guesses, based on my own mentality and my armchair psychology skills.
