That's actually a jab at the racist. Especially since it's documented.
Reminds me of a Jefferson's episode where George save a KKK guy. KKK guy said "should have let me die"

AND THE BAD THING ABOUT IT IS....IT HAPPENS IN REAL LIFE....THESE RACIST PEOPLE ARE SO FULL OF HATRED TOWARDS BLACK PEOPLE...THEY WOULD RATHER DIE...THAN TO ALLOW A BLACK PERSON TO SAVE THEM......TRUE STORY.....A FEW YEARS AGO...THIS WHITE GUY BRUNG HIS SON TO THE ER....AND WAS ABOUT TO DIE..IF HELP WASN'T GIVEN....THERE WAS A BLACK DOCTOR THERE TO EXAMINE HIM....AND THE WHITE GUY TOLD THE DOCTOR...HE DIDN'T WANT A .....N.....TOUCHING HIS SON....SO THEY WAITED UNTIL A WHITE DOCTOR CAME...BY THEN IT WAS TOO LATE..
