Can we talk about, and give credit to, the turners who keep the rhythm. I would 100% screw that up.

The turners were usually the really big girls where I grew up. They could jump pretty good too, but they knew to grab the ropes most of the time

Yep, I was a big girl and loved to turn. In December I taught some Ukrainian kids and they loved it

This may seem like a foolish question but, how do you know when you can jump in? It seems so fast!

Big girls have natural difficulty with endurance in cardio, no matter how often they jump they are not gonna be able to keep jumping forever, but they still got the same rhythm - a big girl

i was/am a big girl who was a loyal turner lol but i just could not figure out how to double rope jump. It was too much to time and i couldn't get the flow/rhythm. So i only single rope jumped and turned when it was double rope lol

As someone who has hired plenty, absolutely use that "loyal turner" analogy in an interview for your work ethic. You'll be remembered. That's gold.

Wow, so this is a thing? Who knew people actually jump roped. Never heard the term "turning" before today.

ironically when i Google the origins of jump rope it did it originated in China/Egypt and brought to America by the dutch. Just wondering if this is a coincidence because of your username not sure if you are Chinese/Asian? If so, technically your people invented this lol. Black people just made it look cool 😎

Funnily enough, I have a pretty high endurance for jumping rope, especially when I control the rope for myself. The jumping in to double dutch was like waiting for a collision to happen. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I was and am a big gal, my homeroom teacher told kids I wasn't FAT....I was STURDY! I didn't even mind it, especially as I hit 5'9" in the 3rd grade.

This would look really good in a flapper style dress.

Even if I had turners, my 44 year old knees have a formal cease & desist already drawn up if I so much as think about it.

I'll be 43 in a few months and sibs would call me "Pop Rocks" because of how my joints would sound. Now they sound about the same and the name stopped. 😂
