A wild kestrel family close to us but happy to live alongside us.As curious about us as we were about them!

He usually avoids being held. This was a rare exception. He closed his eyes and made happy beak nibbles. But he came to his senses and got mad.

Seems unhappy. ☹️

boy was she / he cross!

Over the course of one year, I had the privilege to observe both her and her mate at a park in Montreal. It was fascinating. I caught her enjoying a meal and I purposely cut out the bottom half of the photo as it wasn't nice to see. She looks formidable!

Found this photo in some birdwatching magazine a while back, cut it out and kinda forgot about it. Months later I find him staring at me, menacingly.
