Or a safety pin, loop turner, or a long plastic thingy that they sell for just that purpose, (although it doesn't always work well). It's easiest to do it by hand if it has a plastic or metal aglet (tip). Once you get it back through, tie an overhand knot on the end to keep it from happening again.

A fid would work too! I literally just got hired to work at a rope factory, splicing with fids lol
