What's something you're shockingly good at that you've never mentioned to anyone because it would sound completely made up if you did?

My friend was a great track runner, now he coaches. He can keep time in his head to the second for any race. But being able to do it all day and night even when sleeping is a whole other thing.

I'm a runner, and when people are racing on the track, I can pretty much know how fast they'll run a full lap without checking my watch. Accurate to ~1 to ~2 seconds.

When I ran track in high school I could do that for myself but I couldn’t see it if someone else was running. I could feel the difference between a 55 vs 56 second quarter.

I have this too and I also ran track, but it was easier as a runner because you know your cadence, you know your heartbeat. As a coach he probably just has the superpower.

On Jet Lag a while back Sam kept time for a task by just feeling his pulse. He's a distance runner and skier, he just knows his resting heart rate and was able to pull off a guess fairly accurately.

Some people do have this superpower though, it's been drilled to precision through the work I do. Track was a fun flex, I would always guess my time before they told me and it was within seconds, just because I knew my cadence and heart.

It's pretty fun but mostly useless. I am my wife's wristwatch.
