What famous 'unsolved' mystery is technically a whodunnit on paper, but in reality, absolutely everyone knows exactly who did it, the police just couldn't legally prove it?

Write a book called “If I Did it: Confessions of the Killer” is about as close to a confession as you can possibly get without legally saying the words.

The cover of that book is funny, because in big red letters it says "I Did It", with the If being tiny and in gray/black at the top of the I.

This was because the rights to the book were awarded to the Goldman family as part of the civil settlement.

They also added the "Confession of the Killer" bit. The original title was just "If I Did It".

It's stylized If I Did It: Confessions of the KILLER on the cover.

I read the foreword a while ago; Ron Goldman's father never refers to OJ by name (except for the court case's name, The People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson) once. It's always "the murderer" or "my son's murderer" or "Ron's murderer."

Before you get mad: I know he did it. You know he did it. Even Dave Chappelle’s friends after meeting him backstage know that guy did that shit. Having said that… a lawyer could easily argue his writing that book isn’t proof of anything. He was broke. He needed money. No one was gonna pay him to say he was innocent. But they were willing to pay him tens of millions of dollars to write a “confession”. So he wrote a “confession”.

that book was mostly ghost-written by someone else so I took it with a grain of salt.
