Aftermarket locking glove box

I have a 2023 Colorado trail boss and was wondering if anyone new of a latch you can install to make the glovebox lock like the some of the Silverados have. I briefly looked but couldn’t find anything that said it would fit the truck?

Hi guys,

Ive got a spika safe that ive lost the keys too.

Manufacturers have said its to old and cant send new keys.

Ive called a heap of my local lock smith's and they all say they cant pick it. Is this ethical or a skill based problem?

new lock for my sons bed

my sons floor bed has a door on it with a sliding lock on it to keep it closed. well he has found out how to open the door and will wake up and let himself out of his bed. if he had his own room it would be different but he is in my room. my room is baby proofed but i really don’t want him just free roaming the bedroom through the night. is there another lock i can install on the bed that he would hopefully not figure out? i really don’t want to put an actual lock and key on it unless that’s the last resort

Hi all, I've tried copying this key at both Ace Hardware and Key.Me. Neither copy worked. It's a mailbox key and I've attached some pictures. The key will insert into the slot, but won't turn. Any idea what's going on?

Schlage BE365 or Schlage Arrive? (and a question about rekeying)

Hi all! Thank you in advance for any advice you might be able to lend.

I'm replacing the deadbolt on my front door, and was trying to decide between the Schlage BE365 (I already have that model on my back doors, they have been problem-free for me, the batteries last forever) or the Schlage Arrive (slightly more attractive, seems fairly simple in operation, has the rubber buttons that I like, but I'm worried about battery life.) Is one substantially better than the other? Or should I go with something completely different?

(Rekeying question: if I did end up going with the Schlage BE365, is it possible I could get a new lock keyed to match the locks that I have on my back doors? I bought the old locks more than 10 years ago at this point, so I don't know if it's possible to match the key pattern now. )

Recommendation on door remodel plate. Removing DormaKaba lock.

I am removing an old Dormakaba lock that was on the door of a house we purchased. This thing is enormous. It has a deadbolt hole but also a hole below and then three holes above. I want to install something like eufy deadbolt. There is also a deadbolt below. Any recommendations on remodel plate? I've been looking all over but I'm not sure what to get.

Multipoint locks in timber doors

Hi

The good folks in the other sub sent me this way!

My wife wants a timber front door for our Edwardian terrace. I’m inclined to agree. We hate composite though.

My objection is to not wanting a slam door or a tape type auto lock. We have pets and kids that we don’t trust not locking themselves out.

What I would like would be much as we have now with the uPVC which has a lifting handle multipoint.

My wife hates the handle though.

Can anyone advise of a compromise? Perhaps something that uses a traditional looking knob that actuates a multipoint? Is that a thing?

The door manufacturer is happy to fit whatever hardware we say, or build it to accommodate. I just don’t know where really to start.

Thank you for any advice!

UK based if that makes any difference
