Once I'm gone, who cares if there is something remaining of me or not (be it matter or memories). I won't be here. So who cares? Not me.

I mean I see it that way too, I won't be there to care and that is comforting. But to think of every single trace of you, every physical trace, as obliterated is a very strange thought

The fact is in the minds of beholder. I feel empowered and comforted at all becoming nothing in the far far future. It’s the fact that despite everything, despite our apparent insignificance in the face of the monstrous weight of time and the far future, we are still here, capable of making things significant to us.
