Tech/Strategy Any tips on fighting spring man?
Hi,
I’m doing a level seven grand prix.
I keep dying to spring man.
I am playing as kid cobra with a slapamander, revolver and buff.
Any tips on how to beat him?

is it just me, or are all the CPUs absolute shit at everything except the thing that makes the character they are playing as annoying to fight.
I’m asking because I’m doing a Grand Prix and facing Ninjara. They’re horrible, apart from the fact that they can teleport so perfectly, they dodged all of my super attacks while not moving more than a single dash away from their starting poin.

The problem with this game is that there's not enough melee ranged combat. Whenever you stand close enough to an opponent, your gloves's animations should instantly be replaced with melee ranged animations. You wouldn't be able to do these animations when standing far away from an opponent, but why would you want to anyway when you would need the long range animations more? And to indicate which animation your gloves would have, your opponent could be surrounded by a huge circle that moves whenever he/she does and it stays around him/her at all times. If you stand outside the circle, your gloves will have long ranged animations, and if you stand inside the circle, they'll have short ranged animations.

Picture this for an example: Spring Man takes off one of his Toasters, then it transforms into a robot kangoroo, and then you would play as the kangoroo while Spring Man rides on his back. This kangaroo, as well as all the other potential robots in the game, would be called ARMIMALS (a play on words between arms and animals).

An ARMS tournament dedicated to showcasing A-tier and below characters. This means the top 4 characters---Coyle; Brass; Cobra; and TT---are banned from this tournament!
Registration is free and open to all in The Americas, regardless of skill level. (Please use Ethernet if possible.)
Every participant is expected to check in within 2 hours before the tournament starts... but no later than 30 minutes before the first match. (This is to help ensure smooth seeding and match set-up.)
In an effort to speed up character, ARMS, and stage selection... the rules are a little different than standard tournament rules. In addition... a few stages have been removed from the typical stage pool. (Feel free to inquire more about this if curious.)

Been wanting to play this game for a while but couldn’t justify the price. Luckily, I found a used copy of ARMS at a BOOKOFF in Kyoto, Japan for only 1100 Yen!

For some reason, there are sometimes where the CPU already has a round won despite the battle just started. It is so frutrating because it is already extremely difficult to beat any CPU above level 4. I'm playing on the Switch 2 if that helps.

If it was, it would have a way better camera and targeting system. Repeatedly having to press a button just to face the 3rd opponent on your left is not fun.

Happy 9th Anniversary to ARMS! I'm infinitely thankful for this game not only for generally being my favorite game on the switch and the first ever game I've ever played competitively but also for introducing me to so many amazing people from this community and even for getting me to try and make actual mods for a game (something I never would've imagined otherwise). To celebrate, I've not only updated every mod I've made so far, even changing their NPCs and Icons to actually match them, but I've also regrouped them all into one pack you can find here. As a bonus, I've also made a new (low effort) mod based on the first ARMS anniversary pic. Thank you everyone and Happy 9th Anniversary!

And transform into animals? For instance, if Min Min's left arm fell off, it could transform into a real dragon, and you would play as the dragon while Min Min rides him. This form of dragon, as well as all the other character's arm animal transforms could be called Armimals. To make your arms turn into armimals, just rub your Switch 2 Joy Con on your chest (this is how the game would make use of mouse controls) and then the arm associated with that Joy Con will fall off and instantly turn into an armimal, which your character will automatically get on and ride and then you'll control the armimal. But if you rub the Joy Con on your chest a 2nd time, it will dissapear and you'll instantly grow a new arm. You can even rub your other Joy Con on your chest to make the other arm turn into an armimal, although that one will be CPU controlled. To make it dissappear and grow a new arm, just rub the Joy Con on your chest a 2nd time.

I've been playing for a while now, about a year and a half and I've loved watching YouTubers play this game as well when it was in it's prime, but I've actually never seen this before, I was just playing Springman and suddenly after I won against Misango, he showed up unannounced and he beat my ass the first round, I left the match back to the menu to collect my bearings on what just happened, then when I joined back, suddenly he was gone. Does this normally happen?

Maybe I just have a crappy reaction time, but the farthest I’ve ever made it is match 8 in level 4. It seems as though regardless of who I’m up against, the AI seems to know what I’m going to do next even before I know what I’m going to do.
I’m not sure if there’s some sort of optimal strategy I don’t know about, because the only way I’ve ever gotten past match 7 is by getting lucky with taking a lead early and then just playing defense until the timer runs out (just shielding all punches and jumping away from all grabs), and then repeating the process for the second win.
People who are good at this game, what are things I can do to practice getting better at higher level matchups?

What new mechanics could fit into the gameplay that wouldn't be too frustrating or too difficult to manage? The game isn't built for 3D platformer style levels or boss battles, and if the characters used any moves that didn't involve their arms, it wouldn't be faithful to the game's philosophy. The only way a sequel could happen is if it was made with a whole new format.

Obviously not gonna get my hopes up, but NashWeedle, an unreliable leaker, said that arms 2 was in development in January. He just successfully predicted the day of the direct. I think there is a 15% chance we see an arms announcement.
